yipee! i finally have a new phone... to lose again?!?! hahaha! i hope not. i sure wish that my unlucky streak with phones has ended the last time i lost one.

and so, there i was in bed (the club) last sunday sitting on a couch – smoking, drinking and being a wallflower, as usual – when this guy sitting beside me asked me, “you’re from hong kong, right?” i was like, “huh???” so he repeated, “you, you’re from hong kong, right?” and i said, “no….” he then asked, “so where are you from then?” i replied, “uhm, mandaluyong.” at first, he sounded really certain about his remark but when he heard my reply, he was so surprised that he even asked for his friend’s opinion. and so he went, “hey anna, doesn’t he look like he’s from hong kong?” with all glowing smiles she answered, “oh yes, he does.”

how the heck does a person from hong kong look like?!?! well, apparently i look like one, but i don’t understand how one can distinguish that! i can perhaps identify who’s chinese, who’s japanese or who’s korean; although sometimes i still even mix them up. but someone from hong kong… c’mon, they’re basically chinese, for chrissakes! how can you tell just by looking at a chinese guy if he’s from beijing, hong kong, singapore or someone who grew up in ongpin?!?! it’s like distinguishing an ilocano from a crowd of capampangans and bicolanos!!!

which reminds me, last january, joa and i were walking along the streets of dc, looking for a place to eat breakfast, when a homeless guy asked me for a buck. since i’m kinda scared of homeless people, i paced up my walk and just shook my head to say no. then the homeless guy blurted, “damn you, bruce lee!” and kept on muttering. hahaha!

boy, i’ve always thought that i’m mestizo. i guess i got recessive genes from my mom then. or is it because of the constant squinting of my myopic eyes? i have big eyes kaya! hmmm....

i'm a cold-hearted, selfish, egoistical, narcissistic bitch.

last week, our manager confirmed that we are flying to the states earlier than expected. our annual convention is only four days long but since we need to be trained for the new software that we are going to use next year as well as our new job responsibilities, we will be staying at the maryland-washington dc area for two weeks instead. our tentative departure date is january 13, 2007, so it’s just two months away. i’m planning to file a vacation leave after the convention and i just wish it’ll be approved. i still haven’t decided though if i’m gonna spend time in new york or san francisco. either way, i’m still excited! =)

p.s. i’ve finally recovered from my financial slump; and come november 28, i’ll be once again stable. yippee! =)
